Our Vision and Aims
At Nansledan our Art and Design curriculum has been created to ensure all children are inspired, challenged and equipped with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. We believe Art should provide pupils with a real-life context for learning. We aim to inspire pupils to develop their confidence to experiment and invent their own works of art. Our scheme is designed to give pupils every opportunity to develop their ability, nurture their talent and interests, express their ideas and thoughts about the world, as well as learning about art and artists across cultures and through history. Our Art and Design curriculum is built around essential knowledge, understanding and key skills. These are broken into year group expectations and show clear continuity and progress.

- Evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design.
- Know about great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms.
