Anning Class Y2

WELCOME TO ANNING CLASS!

Anning Class is one of our two Year 2 classes. Our class is named after Mary Anning, a palaeontologist and fossil collector who's discoveries and research helped us understand about life on our planet in the far-distant past during the Jurassic period.

We are part of the Discoverers Stage, working closely with the rest of Year 2 and Year 1 team across Key Stage 1. All of the Year Two adults work closely together and know the children in both Anning and Curie classes well. We also encourage the children to play, work and learn together.

Things to know:

PE will now be on Friday afternoons, children will get changed in school.

We will also do some outdoor learning activities on Tuesday afternoons, children will need to bring their outdoor learning kit in case it is needed.

Children will have weekly spellings which will be set on Spelling Shed. Children can access these through their Wonde passwords. Spelling tests will be on Friday afternoons.

Reading is encouraged daily as this is vital to children's reading development which in turn supports the rest of the learning throughout the curriculum and in life.
